Dr Martin Johnson was a primary teacher in London and Southern England for 10 years. He is now a senior researcher at Cambridge University Press & Assessment’s Research and Development Division, a Fellow of the International Society for Design and Development in Education, and an Executive Member of the British Association for International and Comparative Education. The focus of much of his work is on the interaction between assessment, learning and curriculum issues. Projects have ranged across academic and vocationally related contexts as well as formal and non-formal learning settings. His general research interest is on how to better understand learning and assessment as enacted practice, and has involved using assorted qualitative research methods.
