Kerrie is the Principal of Stone Soup Academy in the centre of Nottingham City. Stone Soup Academy is an Ofsted outstanding, award winning, alternative provision free school academy. Kerrie worked within mainstream education for 18 years, In 2014 Kerrie moved her focus to alternative education and she has successfully led Stone Soup Academy for 5 years.Within that time the academy has won many accolades for innovative and creative approach to alternative education including the TES Alternative Provision School of the Year and EDTECH Innovation Award. In April Kerrie was awarded the Inspirational Educator Awards in Alternative Learning Provision by the Charitable Trust of the Worshipful Company of Educators.

Creating unimagined futures is the vision for the academy and this has pushed the academy to make bold moves into areas unexpected for the context in which they work. These have included the development of virtual reality to support the curriculum and research linking with Nottingham University, into the use of virtual reality to develop empathy within neuro diverse young people.
